Reboot First Responders

Reboot is a twelve-week course designed for first responders and their families

We are proud to announce that the Reboot First Responders Course will be offered in Marysville, OH beginning on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  Reboot is a twelve-week course designed for first responders and their families, to help them heal from the moral and spiritual wounds associated with critical incident stress.

First responders are 10 times more likely than the public to have suicidal thoughts, and we lose a first responder to suicide every 3 days in the United States.  85% of first responders have a symptom of a mental health issue, and 40% fear a negative influence on their jobs if they seek mental health help through their workplace.  Reboot First Responders addresses these issues by giving them a community of support, along with proven strategies to aide healing from the frequent stress of critical incidents and trauma.  It is designed for all first responders, including police, fire, EMS, dispatchers, corrections, and ED nurses and staff, to heal from stress and trauma.

Reboot First Responders is designed for the family, as we recognize that trauma affects the entire family.  Participants are encouraged to bring their families to share a meal prior to class.  While the adults participate in the class portion, there will be childcare available.  There is no cost to the first responder, or their family, for any portion.  The program is entirely funded by generous community support.

“I understand all too well how these traumatic calls affect all of a first responder’s life, as well as reach into their families.  I only wish this program existed 15 years ago when I was mostly trying to figure it out alone,” said Jason Miller, leader of the Marysville Reboot Course.  “I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to give back to our first responder community—these meetings and the relationships formed, are so important to healing our first responder families and strengthening our community.”

The free weekly course in Marysville meets each Tuesday from January 7th to March 24th and will be held at the Hope Center, 212 Chestnut St. Marysville, OH 43040 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Childcare and dinner will be provided.
